Shut down poor combine nicely

Once again, the Bills found another player they liked who happened to have a bad outing at the combine. During the on-field testing portion of the combine, Fromm ran a 5.01-second 40-yard dash, the slowest time overall among the 13 quarterbacks competing at the event. Draft analysts mostly didn’t like his arm strength there as well. NFL.com’s Chad Reuter tabbed Fromm as his No. 1 loser at the combine, citing “His arm strength during workouts was also adequate, as expected.”

But Fromm did handle at least one criticism nicely.

Among negative comments about Fromm? Hand size. He measured under the desirable nine-inch hands at 8 7/8 inches. Fromm had a good clapback to that.

“It’s an eighth of an inch away from being the desired 9 inches — no big deal,” Fromm said. “It’s the same hand that went to three SEC championships, you know, a Rose Bowl, a national championship and some Sugar Bowls. So I think it’s played plenty of football and done well enough so far.”

Touche, Jake.
