Not exactly what the doctor ordered, but that’s OK
Simply put, Diggs isn’t what many observers of the Bills wanted. That’s fine though, because he can do exactly what they want him to do. John Brown is a burner, but needs his space while Cole Beasley is shifty on the short routes. Buffalo needed someone who could get down the field and make a play on the ball for Josh Allen.
While only 6-feet tall, Diggs can do exactly that. He’s not the big-bodied guy like Clemson’s Tee Higgins (6-foot-4), who could’ve been Buffalo’s draft pick, but he can certainly come down with the ball. In fact, according to Pro Football Focus, he’s caught 64 percent of his contested passes thrown his way since 2018. That number trails only Chiefs receiver Tyreek Hill.
So what we’re saying is… don’t judge a book by its cover.
