Helped raise younger brothers
As mentioned, Diggs’ brother is going to be drafted out Alabama. The Bills’ Diggs was a talented player too coming out of high school, but he went to Maryland. There’s a reason for it. When Diggs was 14, he was made the man of the family as his father tragically passed away due to heart issues. With two younger brothers still in the house, Diggs told USA Today in 2014 that he chose to stay close to home for his family.
While his brother did joke about covering him at the recent combine, Trevon also tipped his cap to his older brother. He called Stefon a father figure to him through his life.
“He’s like my dad, honestly. He was there for me when my father passed, so he’s always taken care of me,” he said. “I’ve always asked him about everything, no matter what. At 2 o’clock in the morning, I’m asking him questions. I called him last night … every day. I’m asking him about his experiences, his process, how he manages. There are a lot of things I ask him.”
Diggs has also shown his giving side to his community as well. In one such occasion, he went back home to D.C. and donated coats to students in need because he felt like he wasn’t “far off” from where they are.
Much respect to Diggs for putting family and community first in such a manner.
