S Eric Berry
Age: 31
Perhaps an unlikely, yet, interesting option for the Bills. Berry didn’t have the best relationship with the Bills early in his career after being injured against them, but at that time, he certainly had a ton of talent. The former All-Pro had his battle with Hodgkin’s lymphoma back in 2014 and then injuries mounted from there. In 2018, he was recovering from a torn Achilles and eventual sat out the 2019 season after the Chiefs released him.
As a defensive back, Berry has shown himself as a promising pass rusher in his career and he’s stout against the run. He wouldn’t come to the Bills to start at safety, but on certain packages Berry could be tasked with duties as an extra defender in the box and he could help shadow opposing tight ends.
Unfortunately, The Athletic reported earlier this offseason that the Colts could be interested in adding him. The report also indicated that the Colts would have some competition for his services. Without a starting spot for Berry, it could be a no-go for the Bills.
Can we all stop for a minute and appreciate what Eric Berry is doing a year after beating cancer?!? 🙏 👏 pic.twitter.com/YfDDYla3jV
