Struggles at the combine fixed virtually
The whole entire NFL Draft process has been knocked off by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Moss’ pre-draft process was more of the same.
So part of the reason Moss fell in the draft could have because of some injuries. That included some in school, but most recently, he reportedly tweaked his hamstring while running the 40 at the recent scouting combine. His times were bad, a 4.72-second clip followed by 4.65. That was the fourth-slowest time among running backs there.
But Moss tried to make up for it. He ran it again once healthy while social distancing and using a fully electronic setup. A much better 4.52-second time was the result.
“It was very, very important to get that done,” Moss told the Salt Lake Tribune. “Looking back on it, with the state shutting down, I think everyone involved did a great job of making that happen.
With his pro day canceled, Utah RB Zack Moss had a private workout today in which he was electronically timed at 4.52 in the 40. Had run an official 4.65 at the Combine. pic.twitter.com/iBsSbG4Nlj
