A battler
While perhaps an upgrade, Winters does have some slight injury concerns. However, that just shows how much of a true warrior he is, at least in recent memory.
Last season Winters was held to nine games played. He had knee and a very noted shoulder issue. The latter, Winters suffered two dislocations and played through the injury before hangin’ it up for the season. According to the New York Daily News, “Winters played in excruciating pain for the first half of the season after getting injured in the preseason. He played nine games with a brace before being put on I.R. and ultimately going under the knife.”
But injuries weren’t something that only followed him in 2019. In his career, Winters has only played in a complete 16-game season in three of seven campaigns. In 2017, Winters indicated on social media that he “completely tore” his abdomen and in his early seasons, he dealt with another knee issues. Staying healthy might be priority No. 1 for Winters.
