Early injury history
Jefferson played in 14 games last season, rounding up 26 tackles, four for loss, three passes defended and a career-high 3.5 sacks. The year before, he played in all 16 games. Prior to that, there were a lot of injury bugs in his corner.
He was a fifth-round pick of the Seahawks in 2016, but only played in three games as a rookie due to a knee injury. Then the Seahawks moved on from him quickly and he landed with the Rams practice squad before going back to the Seahawks. He broke his hand in his first practice back there and his career seemed in jeopardy. But things eventually turned out well for him and Jefferson looks back on the tough times positively now.
“Everything happens for a reason. Maybe I needed to get my ACL torn. Maybe I needed to get cut,” he said to The Seattle Times. “I appreciate where I’m at now. I know what it’s like to be on the other side, and I never want to go back there.”
Jefferson also broke his foot in the 2019 playoffs and he surgery to repair the injury this offseason. NFL Network reported his recovery time was eight weeks and surgery was in January, so he’s good go.
Quinton Jefferson looked pretty nice last night. If he can turn it on this season and the rookies are as ahead of schedule as they looked last night… 👀 pic.twitter.com/O3LezZjOhw
