Josh Allen update

Finally, we can’t get through a press conference without some direct discussion on the beloved quarterback that is Josh Allen. Recently Allen said he’s against being a “captain checkdown” in the NFL. He’d rather take a risk as opposed to taking the easy way out.

But then again, that’s not always to worst thing. Getting the ball out to a player instead of seeing the ball turned over or landing incomplete is a lot better. McDermott was asked how he’s going to weigh Allen’s thoughts on wanting to sling it all the time. The coach said improvement from Allen in this department will come mostly from one thing: Experience.

“I think it comes from a variety of areas, number one, experience,” McDermott said. “Just playing the game. Whether you’re 10 years old, or where Josh is here, entering his third year here, he’s got to play the game and get more and more experience and see the value of taking what the defense gives you.”
