10 Things We Love About College Football – Week 12 Edition

Oklahoma seems to desperately need one of Oregon or Utah to lose before the Pac-12 Championship and then to win that conference title game if they’re going to have much of a chance at one of the four playoff spots.

No. 6 Indiana Scares Penn State Despite Dreadful Fake Punt

I’m not going to lie, every time I saw Indiana listed in a poll or on a schedule this week and saw their 7-2 record listed I thought it had to be a misprint.  Indiana football is like Northwestern basketball or college football programs like Duke and Kansas that if they’re anything but awful on the football field it seems newsworthy.

Indiana was trailing the Nittany Lions by just seven early in the third quarter and faced a fourth and one from their own 44. Instead of running an actual play with their offense they ran one of the poorest fake punt attempts you’ll ever see which Penn State unsurprisingly stuffed.

Penn State scored immediately after but credit to the Hoosiers who kept it tight, falling by just a touchdown, 34-27.  Another win for Indiana which they’ll have a great chance at with Purdue still on the schedule would bring them to eight on the year, something they haven’t accomplished since 1993.
