Multi-sport athlete
The debate as old as time. Is it important for eventual professional athletes to be well-rounded and play multiple sports or focus on one? Epenesa is an example of yes, play a few. Along with thriving on the football field, he did so on the hardwood. In high school, Epenesa surpassed 1,000 career points on his basketball team. As an AAU baller, he played with current NBAer Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics as well.
But it doesn’t stop there. Along with his drive in the paint, Epenesa threw discus on the track and field team. As a thrower, he won the state title in Illinois. In all three sports, Epenesa earned All-State honors while suiting up for Edwardsville High School.
