10 tallest heavyweight titleholders

Boxing Junkie presents the 10 tallest heavyweight champions in history.

ANTHONY JOSHUA

Height: 6-6 (1.98)
Active: 2013-
Record
: 23-1 (21 KOs)
Titles
: IBF, WBA, WBO
Background: Joshua became a bigger than life figure in his native U.K. by winning the super heavyweight gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics and then taking the professional ranks by storm, winning his first heavyweight title in only his 16th fight. AJ’s height and Adonis-like physique only added to his allure. Then it all came crashing down. Andy Ruiz Jr., a chubby Mexican-American, stunned the boxing world by stopping Joshua in seven rounds to become heavyweight champion in June 2019. The former titleholder’s career was at a crossroads. Ironically, it was a trimmed down – thus quicker and more agile – version of Joshua that responded like a true champion. He easily outboxed Ruiz six months later to regain his belts and return order to the sport’s glamour division.
