Stop forcing it

On that Texans loss, Allen’s remembered for it via some bizarre reasons. He was forcing things way too much and the QB even randomly lateraled the ball to tight end Dawson Knox at one point and almost lost the ball for his team that would’ve been… bad.

Upon reflecting on that game film, Allen said he’s watching plenty of other great quarterbacks across the NFL this offseason. His takeaway? Even late in games when they’re trying to make a comeback, Allen notices how those guys don’t force every single throw. He also mentioned a few of the guys who he’s taking notes of… some good ones.

“You can’t force things to happen. After watching a lot of tape, we’ve been watching a lot Drew Brees, a lot of Tom Brady, a lot of Aaron Rodgers, a lot of Russell Wilson, especially late in the game. They’re not trying to force things, they’re still taking what the defense gives them,” Allen said.
