Darnold backs Gase
The Jets have been a team in-flux all offseason long. Their team leader, Jamal Adams, finally saw his saga come to and end. Then even more recently, the Brian Winters situation. And if you want, toss in Robby Anderson there, too. Three team leaders and veterans gone.
In some cases, most notably with Adams, he had problems and tiffs with Jets head coach Adam Gase and general manager Joe Douglas.
Plus, in general, you can give your opinion that Josh Allen is better than Darnold, but there’s no debating that the Bills have done more to help Allen than Darnold during their young careers. But despite all that, Darnold recently still backed his head coach.
“He’s the right leader for this team for sure,” Darnold said via Jets Wire. “I think for me, personally, he’s helped me grow a ton as a quarterback in learning this offense.”
“I’ve had nothing but positive experiences with him so far,” Darnold added.
