New Orleans Pelicans rookie Zion Williamson joined thousands of others on social media on Tuesday by thanking the healthcare workers around the world for their remarkable efforts during the coronavirus pandemic.

Tuesday marked World Health Day as many took to social media to show gratitude to those on the frontlines of the coronavirus each day, from nurses and doctors to first responders. The theme of the 2020 World Health Day is to focus on celebrating the work of nurses and midwives.

Williamson showed love to those individuals in New Orleans and all across the world during the collective effort to slow the spread of the virus and flatten the curve.

Williamson has helped support those around him in recent weeks after he volunteered to cover the salaries for those who work at Smoothie King Center in New Orleans for 30 days after the regular season was suspended indefinitely.

The No. 1 overall pick has been lauded for his efforts during the coronavirus outbreak and his gesture on Tuesday further shows his character after thanking those brave healthcare workers around the world.
