Zion Williamson is already one of the best finishers in NBA history and this stat proves it

Zion Williamson is making NBA history already.

Zion Williamson is already one of the best finishers we’ve seen in NBA history and he’s only in the second year of his career.

Yes, that’s wild to say. And it might even feel a bit premature. But it’s true. He’s already this good.

Williamson scored 34 points on 12 of 18 shooting against the Hawks on Tuesday night. That gave him his 25th straight (!!!!!) game of scoring at least 20 points while shooting 50% from the floor.

That puts him in some pretty illustrious company. Shaquille O’Neal is the only other player since in the shot clock era to have such a streak. And he’s got, at least, four more inches in height than Williamson as a 7-1 center.

SHEESH.

The thing about it is that we know where all of his shots are coming from — he’s going to the rim every time. Look at his heat map.

The other thing about it, though, is that they just can’t stop him.  On the season Williamson is shooting a scorching 64% at the rim and 62% overall on the season.

And don’t forget — he’s only 20 years old.

Good luck to the rest of the NBA. They’re going to need it trying to stop this dude.
