Zion Williamson has only four NBA games under his belt but the No. 1 overall pick is already among the league leaders in offensive rebounding so far.
As the New Orleans Pelicans pointed out on Wednesday, Williamson is sixth in the NBA with a 12.4 offensive rebounding percentage among all players averaging at least 20 minutes per game. Additionally, Williamson is 13th with three offensive rebounds per game.
Given his elite athleticism, Williamson has been a handful on the offensive glass. His strength and ability to push opponents around are a huge reason why he has been successful in creating second-chance opportunities for the Pelicans.
Williamson is averaging 3.0 offensive rebounds per game, leading all rookies, and 13th in the NBA.

Of course, Williamson’s numbers are a small sample size so it remains to be seen if his production can continue but so far, he appears to be a force on that end of the floor. Between his post-up moves and athleticism, Williamson can sometimes prove to be unstoppable against defenders.
Through his first four games, Williamson is averaging 18 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 24.1 minutes per game. His playing time has increased in each game played and he stands to only get better as he continues to get acclimated to the speed of the NBA.
That is a scary thought…
