No. 1 overall pick Zion Williamson teamed up with Jordan Brand to give each of his New Orleans Pelicans teammates a pair of the Air Jordan XXXIV “Bayou Boys” shoe on Friday.
Williamson debuted the “Bayou Boys” shoe when he made his NBA debut on Jan. 22 and has worn them on occasion since that game. The “Bayou Boys” shoe, which is inspired by his play, is the first exclusive release for Williamson since joining Jordan Brand prior to the season.
Williamson gifted a pair of the shoes to his teammates on Friday as they were at each player’s locker waiting for them following a morning shootaround prior to hosting the Miami Heat.

Williamson has previously said the shoes were inspired by the city of New Orleans. The name came from Williamson and his teammates as they would travel around the city and they called themselves the “Bayou Boys.”
Williamson inked an endorsement deal with Jordan Brand as his deal became the richest annual rookie shoe contract in NBA history, netting Williamson $15 million per year.
The Air Jordan XXXIV “Bayou Boys” hit stores on March 13.
