BOSTON — Former University of Tennessee baseball player Zack Godley had a respectable start for the Boston Red Sox Tuesday night, but the team continues to have its struggles in 2020.
The Red Sox fell to the Philadelphia Phillies, 13-6, at Fenway Park, but Godley pitched four innings against Philadelphia and did not figure in the decision as Boston was holding a 3-1 lead when he left the game.
He surrendered one run, four hits and a walk. He had four strikeouts for the Red Sox, who dropped to 6-18 with the loss, which was their ninth consecutive defeat,
Godley has made five appearances for the Red Sox, including four starts. He is 0-2 with a 6.18 ERA since joining Boston after being released by the Detroit Tigers in spring training.
