The Jets have added Ole Miss’s Elijah Moore to their wide receiver room.
Moore will likely be a slot receiver with the Jets, as he’s only 5-foot-9 and 185 pounds. However, the Jets didn’t draft Moore for his size, but rather for his explosiveness. He ran a 4.35-second 40-yard dash time at his pro day, which was seventh-best among players who ran the dash at their respective pro days.
The Ole Miss product had the best year of his college career in 2020. In just eight games, Moore recorded 86 catches for 1,193 yards and eight touchdowns. He averaged 10.8 catches and 149.1 receiving yards per game, which was tops in all of college football.
Social media reacted well to the pick, as did Moore’s new quarterback, Zach Wilson.
LESSS GOOO. Time to get to work @e_moore03 so pumped for you bro! @nyjets
