Zach Wilson’s favorite target this offseason has been none other than fellow rookie Elijah Moore.
The two have connected for some incredible plays already, prompting Wilson to also throw some compliments his receiver’s way.
“He’s got so much potential,” Wilson said Wednesday. “When the guy’s not thinking he is a great player.”
Moore has already shown he can be a versatile player just a few months into his NFL career. It will be tough to keep him off the field, even among a crowded receiving corps. His route-running is pristine and his ability to make plays all over the field hasn’t gone unnoticed by Robert Saleh and the rest of the coaching staff, either.
“What makes those guys difficult to defend is that he can line up wherever he wants and he’s going to execute at a very high level,” Saleh recently said of Moore. “He’s showcasing his ability to be as versatile as possible, in terms of being in different parts of the field, being in different positions, understanding what needs to get done.”
Talent aside, Wilson is excited to work with Moore because of his mentality towards – something many of Moore’s current and former coaches have highlighted already.
“He’s someone I want to be around because he wants to be great,” Wilson said. “He’s definitely a motivating person. We’re gonna have a good time doing this thing together.”
