Don’t roll your eyes until you see Zach Wilson’s throw.
I get it. It was his pro day. He wasn’t wearing pads. He wasn’t standing behind an offensive line. He wasn’t playing against a defense. But the BYU quarterback prospect managed to pull off an extremely high-difficulty throw during his workout on Friday.
Wilson rolled to his left and threw across his body to lead his receiver, who was running to the right. The ball hit the receiver perfectly in stride. It’s a unique demonstration of arm strength, touch and accuracy. It’s one of the reasons why Wilson has rocketed up draft boards and is in play for the second overall pick, where the New York Jets pick. They sent their head coach, offensive coordinator and general manager to watch Wilson’s workout.
And here’s what they saw.
