Zach Edey, as you may know, is a very tall and talented center for Purdue.
When it comes to trying to win a tip-off against him — he stands at 7-foot-4 — it’s extremely difficult. So Samford’s coach decided to have some fun with it.
He asked Dallas Graziani — measuring at 5-foot-8 — to take the tip, and there’s a very funny video of him working on his jump ball skills as he got ready for the real thing.
How did the real thing go, though? Not great, as you’d expect. Graziani didn’t even jump as Edey tipped it with ease to his teammates. Oh, well:
Samford sent out 5'8 Dallas Graziana for the jump ball with 7'4 Zach Edey 🤣

7’4” Zach Edey vs. 5’7” Dallas Graziani for the opening tip is just cruel

Perhaps this was all inspired by Victor Wembanyama vs. Steph Curry in the preseason?
