Zac Gallen has been dominant at home for Diamondbacks this season

Former UNC baseball starter Zac Gallen has been dominant at home for the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Former North Carolina pitcher Zac Gallen has again quietly pitched well for the Arizona Diamondbacks. And this year to start the season, Gallen has been dominant at home.

With Monday’s 5-2 win over Miami, Gallen improved to 5-1 on the year with a 2.36 ERA. He also improved to 4-0 at home, with 41 K’s, 2 walks, and 1 earned run with 27.1 innings pitched. Prior to allowing a run last night, Gallen had a 20.1 scoreless inning streak.

Gallen has turned into a legit ace for the Diamondbacks and a sneaky pick for the NL Cy Young race, especially if he can keep up this hot streak for most of the season.

In his fifth season in the big leagues, Gallen continues to impress for Arizona as the Diamondbacks are off to a 20-15 start. He’s led the way in the rotation, being a solid ace for them in the NL West.

If he keeps this up and the Diamondbacks continue to play well, they could be poised to be a surprise team in the NL.
