Former Vol Yan Gomes records two hits at the White Sox.

The Chicago Cubs defeated the Chicago White Sox, 7-3, Tuesday at Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago, Illinois.

Former Vol Yan Gomes went 2-for-4 and recorded one double for the Cubs.

Gomes played at Tennessee from 2007-08 before transferring to Barry University.

Gomes has recorded a .267 batting average, eight home runs, 35 RBIs, 30 runs, 58 hits, six doubles, three triples and one stolen base in 2023.

He won the World Series with the Nationals in 2019. The Former Vol was an American League All-Star with Cleveland in 2018 and won a Silver Slugger Award in 2014.

The Cubs next play Wednesday at the White Sox. First pitch is slated for 8:10 p.m. EDT at Guaranteed Rate Field.
