Since the conclusion of his NFL career, Randy Moss has worked as a studio analyst for ESPN programs, Sunday NFL Countdown and Monday Night Countdown.
He has a segment called “You Got Mossed,” where he gives commentary over plays of wide receivers making highlight-reel catches in the NFL, college and elsewhere.
Yahoo Sports’ Frank Schwab thinks it’s time to give Moss a chance at the ‘Monday Night Football’ booth, even saying he could be the Tony Romo, the former Cowboys quarterback turned broadcaster who has become well known for correctly guessing plays and other things on the field before they happen.
Here’s what Schwab said about Moss possibly getting a chance:
“We don’t know if Moss would want the job. It’s a hard one under an intense spotlight. That might be a reason ESPN has struggled to figure out its booth after moving on from McFarland and Joe Tessitore. Whoever gets the job will be the fourth lead analyst on “MNF” in four years.”
You would think for most Vikings fans that this would be an easy decision: of course you’d want Moss in the booth. But there’s always a chance that he might not be cut out for it, which would probably garner backlash on par with what Jason Witten received during his time as a broadcaster. So you never know.
