Rey Mysterio fires out of his corner when the bell rings, definitely not backing down from Damian Priest. Corey Graves notes that Rey has made a Hall of Fame career out of beating bigger opponents, so this is nothing new for him.
That isn’t helping him against that gutbuster, however. Priest presses his advantage as the cameras show Bad Bunny pulling up to the back of Allstate Arena.
Mysterio snaps off a top rope hurricanrana to get himself out of a precarious position, covering for a near fall. Priest bounces back quickly, treating Mysterio to some big right hands.
Rey is sent skidding on his stomach to the floor, something we’ve seen plenty of times before, drawing boos from the fans. After the show’s final commercial break, Mysterio hits a moonsault to the floor and multiple moves in the ring, including a springboard cross body for two.
He thinks he has the 619 ready to dial, but Priest is ready and wipes him out with a big boot, covering for his own near fall. After catching Mysterio in midair on a springboard move, Priest hits a flatliner and gets another two count.
The fans come to life, urging on Rey as Priest goes for a steel chair. Mysterio is back up, however, and now they’re racing for the chair. Priest is flung into the ropes, and the 619 finds its target.
Mysterio heads for the top rope but gets smashed in the face with the chair, and the ref calls for the bell. Priest loses by DQ, but clearly that doesn’t matter to him as he hits South of Heaven.
Now the announce table gets cleared off, but Bad Bunny is on his way out with a kendo stick. He puts it to good use, battering Priest out to and over the announce desk. Priest briefly recovers but ends up taking a few more shots before fleeing through the timekeeper’s area.
As Priest licks his wounds on the stage, Bad Bunny has a message for him: Bunny is no longer the host of Backlash, but is headed to Puerto Rico to “kick your ass” … in a Street Fight.
