All 30 NBA teams are expecting guidelines for a return to action by June 1, report ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Zach Lowe.
The duo relate that the league office is expected to release instructions for teams to begin recalling players to the teams to prepare for the resumption of the 2019-20 NBA season. They are also awaiting instructions on when to allow more player and staff into facilities to begin training at greater levels.
Suspended since the positive coronavirus test results of Utah Jazz big man Rudy Gobert came back on March 11, the NBA moving to accelerate the process of a resumption of league activities is one of the best of many recent signs the league may soon be up and running again in some capacity.

It also resonates with reports from the Athletic’s Shams Charania and Sam Amick that the league is in serious talks to secure a site with a Disney-owned property in Orlando Florida. The ESPN analysts suggest Las Vegas may still be in the running to serve as a secondary site as well.
Wojnarowski and Lowe report that the NBA is “discussing a step-by-step plan for a resumption of the season” which will begin with a “two-week recall of players into team marketplaces for a period of quarantine”.
This will then be followed by a week or two on individual training and then two or three weeks of training camps, with actual play being resumed in July, barring unforeseen circumstances.
