Las Vegas Aces forward Aโ€™ja Wilson on Thursday was named the 2020 WNBA Most Valuable Player after receiving 43 out of a possible 47 first-place votes, the league announced.

Wilson averaged 20.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, two assists, two blocked shots and 1.2 steals in 31.7 minutes per game over the 22-game season. She led the league in blocks while she ranked second in scoring and finished sixth in rebounding.

The two-time WNBA All-Star led the Aces to a share of the best record in the WNBA (18-4) during the regular season and the top seed in WNBA playoffs. Las Vegas received a double-bye into the WNBA Semifinals, which will begin on Sunday, Sept. 20.

Wilson dominated the season with the Aces and was the favorite to win MVP as a result. Her performance earned widespread praise from her peers in the WNBA and in the NBA, as well. From Ja Morant to J.J. Redick, and her Aces teammates, players were hyped for Wilson.
