Washington Wizards head coach Scott Brooks on Tuesday complimented the work put in by Rui Hachimura over the recent season suspension and believes the rookie has improved since last playing.
Brooks addressed the status of his team as the Wizards prepare to embark on the season restart this month at the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Florida. The Wizards will enter play 5.5 games back of the Orlando Magic in eighth place in the Eastern Conference.
Brooks said Hachimura has improved his shot since the last time the Wizards stepped onto the court in March. Hachimura has improved the look of his shot and has added more arc on the ball, compared to his previous shot, according to The Focus TV on Twitter.
“I think Rui could be a pretty good 3-point shooter. His shot has been a little flat at the start of the season, he needed to put more arc on the ball, it has improved. Not many rookies come in and start. I saw him yesterday and he looks great.” – Scott Brooks on Rui Hachimura

Hachimura missed extensive time this season due to a groin injury but emerged as one of the top rookies when he was healthy. He will be a big piece of the Wizards’ rotation during the eight seeding games at the Wide World of Sports Complex as the team will need to play nearly perfect to qualify for the postseason.
Hachimura averaged 13.4 points, six rebounds and 1.7 assists in 41 games played prior to the season suspension on March 11.
