From Michael Jordan to LeBron James, there have been dozens of players over the years that inspired the younger generation with their efforts on and off of the court.

Washington Wizards rookie Admiral Schofield looked up to both Jordan and James but also was inspired by Hall of Famer Tracy McGrady. Schofield was impressed by his ability as a shooter standing at 6-foot-8 and the energy that he played with.

Schofield spoke with Allen Zhao of Wizards.com to discuss his love for McGrady.

I have to mention three names, these are my favorite – Tracy McGrady, LeBron James and Michael Jordan. I thought Tracy McGrady on and off the glass was something that was very special for that era, so it was pretty cool. Just the way he plays, it reminds me a lot of Kevin Durant, he’s one of the guys that I admire, him being a tall and being a shooter, he was a well-rounded scorer, and the spectacular and energy plays he would make. He was definitely a role model in my community.

In addition to Schofield, a few other players from the Class of 2019 were inspired by McGrady, including Carsen Edwards and Eric Paschall, so it is apparent that T-Mac was influential to much of the younger generation of players.
