A gutsy win over No. 13 Princeton sees Rutgers men’s lacrosse once again climb up the rankings. It is now four straight wins for Rutgers with the daunting Big Ten schedule now looming.
The 15-14 overtime win against in-state rival Princeton now sees Rutgers at No. 6 in the latest Inside Lacrosse Men’s Division 1 Media Poll. The ranking represents a move-up one spot for Rutgers.
Rutgers is now 6-1 on the season. Princeton drops three spots to No. 17 in the poll and are now 2-3.
This weekend, Rutgers hosts UMass, a program receiving votes in the latest media poll.
There can be an argument made that the Big Ten is now an elite lacrosse conference. Four programs from the Big Ten are represented in the top 10 in the poll and a total of six teams from the conference are currently ranked.
Here are the Big Ten programs in this week’s Inside Lacrosse Men’s Division 1 Media Poll:
- No. 4 Maryland (4-2)
- No. 5 Penn State (5-1)
- No. 6 Rutgers (6-1)
- No. 10 Johns Hopkins (5-3)
- No. 14 Ohio State (3-3)
- No. 20 Michigan (4-2)
