The standout safety helped lead Bethel to an 11-3 record in 2024, a season that ended in the DIII quarterfinals. He closed the campaign with stellar totals of 109 tackles, 10 1/2 tackles for loss, 2 1/2 sacks, two forced fumbles, nine interceptions and 11 pass deflections.
Jung led the Bethel defense for two seasons before making the jump to Wisconsin. His combined production over those two years: 181 tackles, 16 interceptions, 15 tackles for loss and 19 pass deflections.
The Neenah, Wisconsin, native is one of the Badgers’ two transfer additions at the position. Former Richmond safety Matthew Traynor will join Jung and returning starter Preston Zachman at the top of the depth chart. Both Traynor and Jung boast top-end production, Jung at the DIII level, that they’ll work to translate to the Big Ten.

Jung transfers to Wisconsin with two years of eligibility remaining. He shouldn’t have trouble seeing the field immediately; the unit is looking for new leadership in the secondary after the offseason departure of star safety Hunter Wohler.
