On Wednesday afternoon, Pro Football Focus ranked the top Big Ten running backs in yards per carry against an eight-man box from last season, and not surprisingly, Wisconsin RB Braelon Allen led all Big Ten rushers.

After a phenomenal freshman season where he battered and bruised Big Ten defenders, Allen averaged an outstanding 6.9 YPC against a packed box. Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson finished behind Allen with 6.7 YPC.
It was a joy to watch Allen’s physicality as a true freshman in the Big Ten last season, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him take another big step with a full offseason with the team under his belt.
