PFF is skeptical of Wisconsin entering this season

Wisconsin enters the 2023 season with sky-high expectations and an easy schedule. In Madison, that’s usually the recipe for a strong year and New Year’s Six Bowl appearance.

Several outlets and metrics agree. ESPN SP+ has the Badgers as the No. 19 overall team and No. 4 team in the Big Ten, for example.

But not all ranking services are on the same page, such as ProFootballFocus. After listing Wisconsin as the No. 7 team in the Big Ten behind Minnesota, Illinois and Iowa, PFF released its full top 25 entering the season. The website’s ranking does not include Wisconsin.

Wisconsin will begin its quest to prove PFF’s rankings wrong when Buffalo comes to town September 2.
