Madison, Wis. – Earlier this week, Jim Leonhard and his coaching staff extended a scholarship offer to 2023 two-star safety Johnny Schmitt out of Chicago, Illinois.
Per the 247Sports recruiting rankings, he’s the No. 212 S in the country and the No. 83 player in Illinois.
The 6-foot-1, 190-pound S currently holds offers from Bemidji State, Dayton, Valparaiso, Illinois, Kansas, and now, Wisconsin.
Schmitt, a standout at St. Rita High School, finished his senior season with 59 tackles, three interceptions, and a fumble recovery, according to MaxPreps.
