After many scouts saw him as a day 3 pick in the 2022 NFL draft, Wisconsin linebacker Jack Sanborn ultimately went undrafted on Saturday.
It didn’t take long, however, for the former Badger to find his NFL home. Sanborn is headed to the Chicago Bears after signing as an undrafted free agent on Saturday afternoon. The news was first reported by Courtney Cronin of ESPN.
Sanborn spent the past four seasons at Wisconsin, and totaled a career-high 89 tackles as a senior in 2021. He had 16 tackles for loss, 5 sacks, and a fumble recovery during his senior season.
Sanborn is a Deer Park, Illinois native, so he gets to begin his NFL journey close to home.
Cal tight end Jake Tonges and Wisconsin linebacker Jack Sanborn (a Chicago area native) are signing with the Bears as UDFAs per source.
