After an official visit to Wisconsin last weekend, Paul Chryst and his coaching staff have received a verbal commitment from 2023 three-star defensive tackle Jamel Howard out of Chicago, Illinois.
Per 247Sports, the 6-foot3, 320-pound nose tackle is the No. 100 DL in the country and the No. 26 player in Illinois.
Howard chose Wisconsin over offers from Akron, Ball State, Central Michigan, Illinois, Iowa State, Kent State, Long Island, Miami (OH), Toledo, and Western Michigan.
According to MaxPreps, the Marist High School standout registered 27 tackles, 0.5 sacks, and one pass deflection as a junior.
Howard is now the 12th player to commit to Wisconsin in the 2023 recruiting class.
