The Wisconsin Badgers and head coach Luke Fickell are on a transfer portal blitz this month. Improving upon a disappointing 2023 season will be paramount, and key portal additions are necessary in making that the case.
The Badgers have six transfer commitments thus far, and it still is early in the process. Those are QB Tyler Van Dyke (Miami), EDGE John Pius (William & Mary), LS Cayson Pfeiffer (Cincinnati), OLB Leon Lowery (Syracuse), TE Jackson McGohan (LSU) and the new addition: WR Tyrell Henry (Michigan State).

That collection of talent, headlined by both Van Dyke as Pius as four-star portal recruits, is good enough to have Wisconsin at No. 11 in 247Sports’ transfer class rankings.

No, this does not mean the roster is overhauled and the team will automatically be better next season. But it does signal Fickell recognizing the massive need at several positions, and an ability to get the job done (so far).
