The Wisconsin Badgers meet the Tennessee Volunteers in the TransPerfect Music City Bowl in Sporting News’ latest preseason bowl projections for the 2024 college football season.
The Music City Bowl will be played on Dec. 30, 2024, far removed from the first edition of the 12-team College Football Playoff.

The Badgers and Volunteers both enter the 2024 season with heightened expectations after disappointing 2023 campaigns (7-6 for Wisconsin, 9-4 for Tennessee).
As fans know, Wisconsin is set to face a gauntlet schedule with games against Alabama, Oregon, Penn State, USC, Iowa and Nebraska. Its slate is the 24th-toughest in the nation according to ESPN FPI.
One of the few teams with a tougher schedule than Wisconsin in 2024: Tennessee. The expanded SEC sees the Volunteers battle Oklahoma, Florida, Alabama, Kentucky and Georgia. Their schedule is up at No. 8 in FPI’s ranking.
Sporting News’ bowl projection could see two much-improved teams in the Badgers and Volunteers — but two potential victims of the challenging new landscape of college football.
