The true freshman Wisconsin cornerback will miss the 2021-22 season after undergoing shoulder surgery:

On Tuesday afternoon, true freshman Wisconsin cornerback Al Ashford announced on his Twitter that he will be missing the 2021-22 season after undergoing shoulder surgery last week.

The Englewood, Colorado, native was the 82nd-ranked cornerback in the class of 2021 by 247sports, and he played for several seasons at Cherry Creek High School before enrolling at Wisconsin in January.

Ashford was one of several early enrollees for the Badgers in 2021, and it is unfortunate to see his true freshman season end before it has even started. Hopefully, Badgers fans will see Ashford back stronger than ever in 2022.
