Although Wisconsin missed out on 2021 SG Julian Roper after the Michigan native committed to Northwestern this afternoon, the 2021 UW basketball class is already one of the strongest in program history.

Despite this being a very early stage in the 2021 recruiting process, Wisconsin has already made multiple major moves. Currently, UW has three hard commits and all are four-star recruits according to 247sports.

PG Chucky Hepburn is the lone guard of the three, and the Bellevue, Neb. (Bellevue West) native tore it up as a junior on his way to a state championship. Wisconsin added power forward Chris Hodges back in August as the first addition to the 2021 class. The 6-foot-8 bruiser is a top-five ranked player in the state of Illinois according to 247sports.

South Dakota Gatorade Player of the Year Matthew Mors rounds out an impressive early class of Badger commits. The 6-foot-7, versatile forward averaged nearly 20 points per game to go along with over eight boards as he lead his Yankton squad to a 13-3 record in conference play.

The Badgers have also been tied to five-star talent Patrick Baldwin Jr., who UW has already offeredBaldwin Jr. is a Sussex, Wis. (Hamilton) native who has been closely linked to Duke by 247sports. The number one player in the state of Wisconsin does not look likely to stay home for his college ball.

UW recently offered SG Isaiah Barnes, an intriguing prospect who has suddenly picked up a plethora of division one offers. The Illinois native not only has a ton of Big Ten offer sheets, but recently added Kansas to the list of suitors.

Overall, this 2021 class is currently the top-ranked unit in the Big Ten by 247sports, and will look to add one or two more solid pieces to an already impressive foundation.
