The Wisconsin Badgers (11-3, 1-2 Big Ten) head to New Jersey to face the Rutgers Scarlet Knights (8-6, 1-2) Monday. Tip-off from Jersey Mike’s Arena is set for 7 p.m. ET (FS1). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college basketball odds around the Wisconsin vs. Rutgers odds, and make our expert college basketball picks and predictions.

The Badgers have won 3 straight after a 116-85 gnawing of the Iowa Hawkeyes Friday. G John Blackwell busted out for 32 points, 8 boards and 5 assists. He was 6-for-10 from three-point land. It was their first conference win after losses to Michigan and Illinois.

Rutgers fell to the Indiana Hoosiers 84-74 Thursday, failing to cover as an 8-point dog. G Ace Bailey did all he could with 39 points and 8 boards. He was 4-for-8 from downtown. Bailey, who averages 19.9 points per game (PPG), has gone for 15+ in 5 straight.

Wisconsin at Rutgers picks and predictions

Prediction

Wisconsin 83, Rutgers 76

Moneyline

I like Wisconsin here. The Badgers are playing a better brand of hoop, have more punch offensively, and Rutgers has lost 2 of 3.

It makes more sense to take the spread, though.

Instead, I’ll take JOHN BLACKWELL OVER 14.5 POINTS (-110). Blackwell had 32 Friday night, and he gets up for big games with 16 against Michigan and 17 against then-No. 4 Marquette.

Against the spread

Take WISCONSIN -1.5 (-110) here because it just makes more sense to lay the point-and-a-half at a discount. Rutgers is just 2-4 ATS in its last 6.

Over/Under

The Badgers are 7-3 O/U in the last 10, and Rutgers is 5-4-1. The Over is also 6-3-1 in the last 10 meetings dating back to 2018.

I like the OVER 157.5 (-105) to sneak over the threshold. Wisconsin is tied for 31st at 83.9 PPG, and Rutgers is tied for 90th at 79.3 PPG.
