William Byron calls for the NASCAR Cup Series to compete in Montreal

William Byron calls for the NASCAR Cup Series to compete in Montreal, Canada. Find out what Byron said about his desire to race in Montreal!

NASCAR has been bold with its scheduling decisions over the last few years, and that is expected to continue. A recent report suggested that NASCAR will have at least one international race on the Cup Series schedule in 2025. The potential location wasn’t named, but Montreal and Mexico City have been the two most talked about places for a while.

FOX Sports’ Bob Pockrass asked several drivers, including [autotag]William Byron[/autotag], where they would want NASCAR to compete in the Cup Series. Byron gave his answer and it ironically matched one of the locations that has been previously discussed.

“Montreal,” Byron said. “I’d be excited to see Montreal. That one is high on my list for sure. I grew up watching NASCAR races there on TV. The area is really cool, and I feel like it would bring a lot of excitement to the Cup Series.”

NASCAR almost reached an agreement with Montreal to put it on the Cup Series schedule in 2024 but it didn’t come to frution. The Cup Series should have a few international races in the future and Montreal would be a fantastic option. It’ll be interesting to see where NASCAR races internationally in 2025 and whether Montreal will finally get the call or not.
