There’s something special about watching aggressive tee shots that bend and twist and arc to avoid trees and land on the fairway with plenty of bounce to roll closer to the hole. The wizardry of a masterful draw or fade is mesmerizing.
But then there are shots like what Will Zalatoris did on Thursday at the AT&T Bryson Nelson at TPC Craig Ranch. The guys smashed a ball off the tee. And it went perfectly straight — and with a driver no less. It’s just ridiculous. The TV broadcast captured the drive with a shot tracer, and the ball’s line is straight as an arrow on the upward trajectory. An absolutely pure line.
It’s … perfect. Just watch:

Yes, Zalatoris is a pro. And yes, he should be able to hit every shot perfectly straight like this one. But, man, I’ve never hit anything that compares to that shot with my driver. Zalatoris’ tee shot was a beauty.
