Before we say or do anything else, let’s start by referring you to our 2024 USC football recruiting tracker. We will continuously update this tracker with the latest commitments after they are officially announced. As of this morning, USC stands at 15 officially announced commitments but 17 unofficial commitments. Lincoln Riley tweeted out two Fight On! emojis late Tuesday night which boosted USC’s 2024 haul from 15 to 17. We will give you the actual commitments when they are announced, adding to our tracker.
Through the 15 commitments — before the revelation of the other two commits still to come — USC was an eyelash behind Penn State for No. 6 in the country. USC will easily pass Penn State once those two additional commitments are announced. The Trojans would then be neck-and-neck with Notre Dame in a fight for the No. 5 spot in the 2024 recruiting rankings. Florida is at No. 4. Michigan is at No. 3. Ohio State is second, and Georgia is first.
If you look at the average ranking of recruit USC is pulling in, that recruit is generally ranked higher than the recruits Michigan, Notre Dame and Penn State have pulled in. Michigan, Notre Dame and Penn State are all at 20 commits or higher. USC is currently at 15 with two more commits ready to come, boosting the total to 17. USC still has room to grow here, while Michigan, Notre Dame and Penn State have all filled several more slots.
If you think USC will finish the 2024 cycle with a top-five class, it would be hard to bet against you at this point.
