Clemson running back Will Shipley will not be available for the Tigers’ huge matchup against Notre Dame.
According to reports from ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Shipley has been ruled out of Saturday’s game. Clemson will be without their top offensive player against a tough Notre Dame defense. Swinney had this to say about his injury heading into the matchup.
“He has made some good progress…definitely still day-to-day,” Swinney said. “Medical people gotta say he’s good to go…they have protocols in place and metrics, and they’ve got all kinds of stuff that you have to go through to be cleared back to play, so that’s where he is.”
Backup running back Phil Mafah will be in for a heavy workload today and will be a key piece of the offense.
