Will Joe Burrow and Tee Higgins bring 9 to 85 back to Cincinnati?

It sounds like a famous Cincinnati Bengals connection could be on its way back thanks to Joe Burrow and Tee Higgins.

In modern Cincinnati Bengals lore, 9 to 85 is pretty legendary.

The tried-and-true hookup between Carson Palmer and Chad Johnson all those years ago remains pretty sacred to this day.

And the first signs such a connection could be coming back to the Queen City surfaced the day before the draft when it was revealed Bengals owner Mike Brown sent a handwritten letter to Burrow’s home — with a No. 9 jersey.

Things moved quickly from there. The Bengals then somewhat unexpectedly used the first pick of the second round on wideout Tee Higgins — a guy who happens to model his game after one A.J. Green and who says he’s been a Bengals fan.

Higgins just went live with this:

So this could really be a thing in Cincinnati again.

No. 85, after all, just got vacated with Tyler Eifert leaving via free agency. And the organization clearly isn’t afraid to bring out either number again (which is a totally different conversation).

So unless something unexpected happens, Burrow’s sitting with No. 9 and has a No. 85 — often compared to A.J. Green — arriving in town shortly.

The Bengals revival has been a fun one this offseason, yet few probably would’ve thought 9 to 85 could be back too.
