Auburn is currently in the market for a new offensive coordinator after firing Mike Bobo.
There has been some speculation as to whether or not Harsin wants to make an outside hire, or an inside hire promoting someone within the program. That man in the program could be receivers coach Eric Kiesau.
Justin Hokanson of AuburnLive joined the “Locked on Auburn Podcast” to talk about some of the options Auburn has at coordinator, and why he thinks Kiesau will not be the guy for the Tigers.
“It would surprise me if Eric Kiesau got the job,” Hokanson said. “Because if Auburn thought he was good enough to be their OC to win now, then why did you bring hm on initially not even as the receivers coach? I would be weary of that move. Not saying it couldn’t happen, but it would surprise me. Harsin and his staff are simultaneously trying to win right now and build right now… there are some good OC’s out there right now that are better than Mike Bobo and better than Eric Kiesau. I wouldn’t anticiapte a quick hire right now either. A quick move to Kiesau would surprise me.”
Auburn certainly has a lot of options that they could be looking at right now, the question is how quickly do the Tigers want to move with the early signing period coming up in just a couple of weeks.
