Will Chris Jones play this week? Injury updates for Chiefs DL

#Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones is dealing with a calf injury. Here are the latest updates.

The Kansas City Chiefs are in an enviable position heading into their Week 18 matchup against the Denver Broncos after locking up the AFC’s No. 1 playoff seed on Christmas Day with a win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

However, star defensive lineman Chris Jones missed Kansas City’s practice sessions on Wednesday and Thursday, which could spell disaster for the Chiefs as the postseason approaches.

Will Jones be ready to play against the Broncos in Week 18?

Chris Jones injury update

Jones has not yet been able to practice this week as he recovers from a calf injury.

He is not expected to play in Week 18 but should be ready to return for the Chiefs’ eventual Divisional Round matchup in the playoffs.

All of Kansas City’s starters are expected to rest when the Chiefs play the Broncos, so Jones’ absences from practice are not yet cause for major concern.

How long will Chris Jones be out?

Given that Kansas City will have a bye week after their showdown against Denver, Jones should have ample time to make a full recovery from his calf injury.

Chiefs DT depth chart

With Jones sidelined, the Chiefs are set to rely on Derrick Nnadi to anchor the middle of their defensive line.
