The Pac-12 Conference women’s basketball tournament is set to kick off on Wednesday in Las Vegas.
With UCLA and USC both getting a first-round bye, the expectation is that Utah and UCLA will face off.
UCLA crushed Utah not that long ago. How different do you think a UCLA-Utah quarterfinal would be for the Bruins? We asked Trojans Wire site editor Matt Zemek about that:
I actually think it sets up well for UCLA. The easy instinct is to say that Utah will be very fired up and will make the game much closer. That’s probably true. The game in Pauley Pavilion was a wipeout. Utah will certainly be more competitive. Yet, I don’t think it will be a squeaker, either. Utah looks worn out and has not been playing great basketball of late. I think UCLA wins — not by a ton of points, but not by three or four, either. UCLA by 12.
It’s not a given, but it is a very real possibility that Utah and UCLA face off on Thursday in Las Vegas.
